My Story
The Doctor Who Became a Longevity Researcher
Growing up in South Arkansas, I wasn't thinking about longevity. I was thinking about fried catfish, Friday night football, and whether I'd get into optometry school. After nearly four decades of clinical practice — tens of thousands of patient encounters, late nights, and early mornings — I found myself asking a different question: not just how do we treat disease, but how do we prevent it? How do we actually thrive as we age?
That question led me down a research rabbit hole that hasn't ended. I've read the studies, applied the protocols, talked to the science, and — most importantly — lived it. At 62, I do things most men my age aren't doing: regular sauna sessions, cold plunge, red light therapy, time-restricted eating, breathwork, and strength training. Not because I'm obsessed with biohacking, but because the evidence is too compelling to ignore.
The Longevity Series came out of that journey. Three books that work together as a system — lifestyle foundations, therapeutic alternatives, and fasting — all written for adults 55 and older who want more than a prescription and a pat on the back.
